Don’t Wait For A Lump To Show Up In A Mammogram By That Time It Could Be Too Late, Instead Use Thermography For Improved Breast Cancer Prevention!
Pink October Has Come and Gone – Should We Make November “Thermography Awareness Month?”
October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and people wore bright pink for awareness, donated money for cancer research and of course, many scheduled their yearly mammogram. Mammograms detect cancer once it is visible and it has formed a lump or bump. However, what if there was a test that could detect breast cancer by observing abnormal cellular activity BEFORE a lump forms. Would you take the test?
Thermography has been researched for over 30 years and has over 800 peer-reviewed studies listed in the Index-Medicus. Since 1982, there have been doctors around the globe that have offered this life-saving test. However the question is, does the majority of the population know about thermograms?
What Is Thermography And How Is It Better Than A Mammogram?
A Thermogram is a test that identifies the heat radiating from your body and the specialist uses the infra-red images to detect abnormalities such as infections, trauma, and the early stages of cancer development. The new blood vessels associated with cancer growth give off heat, signaling a dysfunction has started.
Early Detection Is Vital: Thermography offers the opportunity for earlier breast disease detection than is possible through self-examination, doctor examination, or mammography alone because the procedure can detect the cellular changes that accompany breast cancer development. Unlike mammograms that detect solid mass growths, the thermogram can identify hot spots or abnormalities 5-8 years before mammograms.
Studies have shown by the time a tumor has grown to a sufficient size to be detectable by either a personal physical examination or mammogram; cancer has grown for about seven years achieving more than twenty-five doublings of the malignant cell colony. At 90 days, there are two cells, at one year there are 16 cells, and at five years there are 1,048,576 cells—an amount that is still undetectable by a mammogram. At eight years, there are almost four billion cells.
Proper early detection gives time for you and your doctor to decide on the earliest possible treatment, intervention, or better yet – PREVENTION protocols. It also gives you time to make adjustments to your diet, beliefs, and lifestyle to repair and transform your cells before they become cancerous — talk about true prevention.

No Radiation: One of the greatest benefits of thermography is avoiding radiation and therefore, it can be used as often as needed. Isn’t it ironic that the widely touted test women use to “prevent” cancer, may be causing it? It is well documented that excessive doses of radiation can increase your risk of cancer.
A Thermogram is a no contact, painless, non-invasive imaging modality without any exposure to X-ray radiation.
Back in November 2009, the United States Preventative Services Task Force prolonged their recommendation of having regular mammograms at the age of 40, to 50 years old. And instead of every year, they changed it to every other year because they concluded that the “risk of additional and unnecessary testing far outweighed the benefits of annual mammograms.”
MORE Than Just Finding A Growth: Thermograms are also good at detecting changing cells in the armpit region, an area that mammography is not good at screening.
Perhaps even more exciting is that a thermogram can help a woman diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) decide whether she needs aggressive or conservative treatment. In our previous Complete Wellness Report, Breast Cancer: New Horizon for Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS) Patients, inspired by the October Time Magazine article, it expresses how experts have recently shown minimal confidence in mammograms while also worried with overtreating breast cancer since many cancers are “indolent” meaning they are slow-growing tumors that may never cause symptoms or result in a woman’s death.
Whether it be cancer, fibrocystic disease, an infection or a vascular disease detected before symptoms occur, why aren’t women lining up to get their annual thermography exam instead of their annual mammogram? The reason has to do with many women not knowing about this safe breast health monitoring tool. It also has to do with the reactive mindset of the medical world where they wait for symptoms, instead of true prevention.
Mammogram Versus Thermogram
Painless & Safe: The pressure that the mammogram machine puts on each breast when it’s being compressed is equivalent to putting a 50-pound weight on your chest. Thermography is painless and safe, even for pregnant and nursing women. It’s an image of the heat in your body.
Make YOUR Decision: Always discuss your health decisions with a specialist. If you feel like getting an annual mammogram, go for it. Through this article, we simply want to shed light on a safe, less painful way to detect cancer activity on the cellular level, BEFORE growing into a lump or bump.
When scheduling a thermogram, there are some things to consider. Dr. Getson explains, “To be sure, not all thermographic equipment is the same, nor is every center backed by qualified, board-certified physicians who are specially trained in the interpretation of these images.”
Women (and men) seeking to have a thermogram should consider the following:
- What is the “drift factor” in the apparatus? Anything over 0.2 degrees centigrade leads to poor reproducibility.
- What are the credentials of the interpreting physician?
- The room the study is performed should be free of outside light, and the temperature should always be at 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit, with a proper cooling system in place.
- Make sure the images are “stat”-ed or marked up for future comparison.
- Make certain the physician is available to explain and discuss all findings.
In Conclusion: This topic has been debated for many years now since there are pros and cons with both tests and some experts recommend the best way to find breast cancer is to use both tests.
Reader – Would you rather focus on breast health and ways to prevent breast cancer at the cellular level, rather than put the emphasis on testing and retesting until you finally do find something to poke, prod, cut out, or radiate?

Listen to what Dr. Ben Johnson has to say about mammograms. The mammogram is not only a fossilized way to detect breast cancer early. Worse yet, according to the doctor, mammograms CAUSE cancer! He suggests the one sure and safe alternative for early cancer detection, the thermogram.
